Getting started with Hot Takes

Hot Takes collects feedback on your prototype builds from the people who matter: annotated screenshots and screen recordings from your TestFlight testers, gathered in one gallery.

In broad strokes, a project comes together like this:

  1. Create a project at hottakes.app and copy its project key.
  2. Add the Hot Takes SDK to your app: a Swift package plus one HotTakes.start call at launch. The Get set up guide has the snippet.
  3. Ship the build to your testers through TestFlight, the way you already do. A floating capture pill appears in the running app.
  4. The first time a tester captures, they enroll with their email and a one-time code, so every capture is tied to a verified person.
  5. Testers capture right on the device: screenshots they mark up, or screen recordings narrated as they go. Captures land in your project's gallery on the web as they arrive, tagged with the app version and build they came from.

There's nothing for testers to install beyond your own build, and nothing to configure on their end. The guides at hottakes.app go deeper for developers, owners, and reviewers.
